Trio Bucknell Field Hockey Players Honored by Patriot League

LEWISBURG, Pa - The Patriot League has announced that sophomores Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and Steph Graf (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) earned Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. In addition, Emily Groendyke (Glen Gardner, N.J./Voorhees) earned a spot on the honorable mention list.

Faust led the Bison to a 4-2 victory over Colgate this past Saturday at Graham Field, tallying one goal and three assists. She assisted on two goals to sophomore Trina Boyer (Macungie, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and on the game-winning goal to freshman Megan Krebs (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial). Faust leads the Orange and Blue in goals (7), assists (8), and points (22). The sophomore ranks fifth in the league in points and goals and is tied for third in assists.

Graf, who was honored by the Patriot League for the third time this season, recorded her third defensive save and assist on Saturday. The sophomore was matched up with Colgate's Katelyn Nerbonne, who leads its squad in goals with six, and held her to zero shots taken. Graf is now tied for first in the league in defensive saves.

Groendyke, who is a two-time Goalkeeper of the Week, notched a spot on the honorable mention list by recording five saves with two goals against in the victory over the Raiders. She ranks third in the league with a 1.88 goals against average and second in save percentage at .731.

The Bucknell field hockey team will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 16, when it faces Ivy league opponent, Cornell at Graham Field at 6 p.m.
