LEWISBURG, Pa - The Bucknell field hockey squad will travel to Easton, Pa., to battle Lafayette in its final Patriot League contest. Due to inclement weather predicted for Saturday afternoon, the match has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. The Bison are coming off an upset win over No. 18 Villanova this past Wednesday night at Graham Field. Currently, Bucknell is tied with Lehigh for fourth place with a record of 7-8 (1-3 PL), while the Leopards stand at 4-13 (2-2 PL) and are currently in third place.

With a win on Saturday, Bucknell will clinch a spot in the Patriot League Tournament for the second consecutive season. If the Bison fall to Lafayette, they will still have a chance to advance to the post season, but they would need Colgate to defeat Lehigh. If that occurs, Bucknell, Colgate and Lehigh would all have records of 1-4, but the Bison would advance to the tournament based on the records against common out-of-league opponents, which are Cornell and Lock Haven. Bucknell has a 1-1 record against those foes while Colgate is 0-1 and Lehigh is 0-2.

On offense, Bucknell will look to sophomore Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley East), who is tied for the team lead in goals with seven and ranks first on the squad in assists and points with 10 and 24, respectively. The sophomore currently ranks first in the league in assists and assists per game (0.67), and stands fifth in points and points per game (1.60). Senior Katie Urosevich (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) is tied for the team lead in goals with seven. She also has tallied three assists and is second on the squad in points with 17. The senior has recorded a point in each of the last four games. Urosevich ranks eighth in the league in points and seventh in points per game with 1.13. Senior Callista Costopoulos (Shermans Dale, Pa./West Perry) and sophomore Trina Boyer (Macungie, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) have both tallied five goals and 11 points to rank third on the team in both categories.

The Bison defense is headlined by senior goalkeeper Emily Groendyke (Glen Gardner, Pa./Voorhees), sophomore Steph Graf (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) and freshman Sarah Ebright (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin).

Groendyke currently has 80 saves with a save percentage of .748, which ranks second in the league. The senior has yielded just 27 goals and owns a 2.05 goals against average. Groendyke also has notched two shutouts. Graf and Ebright account for all seven of Bucknell's defensive saves. Graf has tallied five saves, which ranks her first in the league, while Ebright has collected two saves and is currently tied for third place in the league.

"I expect the game to be a typical Patriot League contest. It will be an emotional and hard-fought game with both teams going after it," said Bucknell head coach Heather Lewis, who will be attempting to lead the Bison to the Patriot League Tournament for the ninth time in her 15 years at the helm. "I am confident our team will be ready for the challenge of traveling down to Lafayette for our final regular season game."

For Lafayette, Laura Fabian has a team-best seven goals and 14 points. Maggie Condon and Maggie DeFilippo are currently tied for second on the squad for goals (3), assists (2), and points (8). Goalkeeper Jill Lambert has accumulated 91 saves with a .700 save percentage. She has 39 goals against her with a 2.35 goals against average, which places her fourth in the league behind Groendyke.

The Patriot League Championships will be hosted by the league's regular season champion on Nov. 4-5. Holy Cross and American battle on Saturday for the right to host.
