Bucknell Field Hockey Coach Heather Lewis Announces Camp Information for 2004
Oct. 31, 2003 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell head field hockey coach Heather Lewis will run her nhQ Field Hockey Camp in July of next year. The open and team camps, designed for experienced players, runs from July 8-11, 2004, while juniors camp for beginners will commence on July 9 and run through July 11 as well. Campers will enjoy the use of Bucknell's new artificial turf facility, Graham Field, in addition to the surrounding grass surfaces. Lewis is in her 12th season as Bucknell's head coach and has guided the Bison to the Patriot League Tournament final game three times. She has coached five Patriot League "Rookies of the Year," four Patriot League Scholar-Athletes, and 15 Regional All-Americans as well as 32 All-Patriot-League performers. In addition to her Bucknell experience, Lewis has worked in numerous USFHA programs. Those wishing to attend the open camp should visit the "Summer Camp Information" link on the Bucknell Field Hockey page and print out an application from the list of sports camps. Participants must send a $100 deposit to participate in the open or team camps, and those wishing to participate in the junior camp must send a $75 deposit to secure their spots. The open and team campers can choose to stay overnight, for a total cost of $375, or come to camp only during the day, for $275. Instruction and play will run from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the first three days and until 4:00 p.m. on the final day. Players are welcomed to sign up for camp as a team. Junior campers will compete from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily for an entry fee of $125. All participants will receive a camp jersey and meals during their stay.
All participants are required to bring their own equipment or purchase it at the camp store, and all campers must be at least 10 years old. Lewis must receive your application and deposit by the postmark date of July 1, 2004. The balance of the payment can be in the form of a check by mail through July 1, but only in cash and in person thereafter.
