Bucknell Field Hockey to Host nhQ, Inc. Summer Camp

Nov. 14, 2005 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell field hockey will host an annual nhQ, Inc. field hockey open/team camp, to take place the week of July 6-9, 2006. The camp is open to players of any age, skill level and experience, however, the camp requires a minimum age of 10 years old in order to participate. Campers will have the opportunity to compete on natural and synthetic grass surfaces in addition to the new field hockey turf facility, located in West Fields in Lewisburg, Pa. Head coach Heather Lewis, in her fourth year as the director of the nhQ, Inc. field hockey camps at Bucknell, will oversee this event. The objective of this camp is to provide a learning environment for players of all ages and skill levels. The curriculum is designed for all stages of field hockey development, from novice through the elite level. Individuals will be coached on the skills of passing, receiving and possession. All participants will be provided the opportunities to enhance spatial awareness and decision-making abilities through small game and full-field play. For those interested, goalkeeping instruction will also be available. Campers must bring their own sticks, shin guards, mouth guards, water bottles and both cleated and flat shoes. Goalkeepers must bring their own equipment as well. Sticks, shin guards and mouth guards will be available for purchase at the camp store.
The cost for an individual day camper is $290 and $390 for an overnight camper. Meals are included with the cost, along with a camp jersey. A non-refundable deposit of $100 must accompany the application to secure a space in the camp.
