WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Bucknell women's golf team completed its suspended second round followed by its entire third and final round at the UNCW Seahawk Classic on Sunday. The Bison posted scores of 311 and 312 after an opening-round 306, and they finished in ninth place.
Bison coach Kevin Jamieson said that the team's ball-striking was excellent on Sunday, but they struggled on the greens. Bridget Wilcox, who led the team with a 1-under-par 71 on Saturday, followed that terrific round with a 76 and a 78. She finished in a tie for 19th place individually at 225.
Lauren Bernard had the low round of the day for Bucknell with a final-round 75 to go with a second-round 77. Minjoo Lee closed with a pair of 79s after shooting 77 on Saturday. Brittany Rendell posted 79-81-80, and Kasha Scott shot 79-79-83.
East Carolina came from behind to win the team title with a tournament-record 54-hole total of 866. Old Dominion was second at 872, followed by first-round leader Longwood with 873.
James Madison's Nicole Sakamoto was the individual medalist with a 4-under 212. She edged out Samantha Morrell of ODU by just one shot.
Next up for the Bison will be the Big South Championship April 9-11 at The Patriot Club in Ninety-Six, S.C.
