LEWISBURG, Pa. - Celine Herbin, Teri Schlang and Jaime Hays all posted top-six finishes to lead the Bucknell women's golf team to a second-place finish at its own Bucknell Spring Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at the Bucknell University Golf Club.

In damp, chilly conditions, the Bison shot 333 as a team Sunday, two strokes better than their first-round total. Saint Francis (Pa.) shot a tournament-best 313 in the final round and won the event by 33 strokes over Bucknell. Long Island finished third with a 36-hole total of 691, followed by Central Connecticut (709), Lehigh (714), Monmouth (746), Wagner (749), Kutztown (778) and McDaniel (821).

Herbin shot 78 Sunday and finished with a 36-hole composite of 159, which was good for a fourth-place finish. Tarah Schloss of Saint Francis finished with a two-over-par 72 and shot 146 overall to run away with the individual title. Veronica Lopes of LIU was second at 155, followed by Megan Schaeffer of Saint Francis at 158.

Schlang backed up her career-best 78 in the opening round with an 83 on Sunday. She finished fifth overall at 161. One shot behind was Hays, who carded a season-best 78 on Sunday and tied with Katie Thorne of Saint Francis for sixth place at 162.

Bucknell's fourth and fifth players both struggled in the closing round. Meredith Kalman shot 94 and Stephanie Calhoun had 98.

Bucknell's spring season continues on April 12-14 at the Big South Championship.
