Bison Women's Golf Takes Third at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell University women's golf team hosted four teams in its season-opening Bucknell Invitational Tuesday evening at the Bucknell University Golf Club. After and an hour and a half rain delay, the Bison shot a 341 to finish third behind Youngstown State and St. Francis (Pa.) in the five-team field. Junior Jessica Hetrich and senior Hilary Mainka were the Bison's top finishers for the evening. Hetrich and Mainka each shot a team-low 82 to tie for fourth in the 30-competitor field. Freshman Allison Kasic performed well in her first collegiate round, tying for 15th place with an 89-stroke score. Also making her collegiate debut was freshman Jaime Hays, who shot a 93 to complete the Bison's team scoring. Other Bison who competed were sophomore Jessica Clark (95), senior Bridget O'Mara (97) and junior Catherine Crews (98). Youngstown State won the team title with a score of 323. The Penguins' Gina Abruzzino was the low medallist, shooting a 77. The Bison return to action on Friday when they travel to Myrtle Beach for the three-day Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston.
