Bison Women's Golf Finishes 27th at Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Freshman Kelly Evans carded a career and team-best 79 in the final round as the Bucknell women's golf team finished 27th in its first tournament of the 2002 fall season, the 54-hole Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic, hosted by College of Charleston.
The Bison improved their team score each day, finishing with a 994 aggregate (337-330-327). Bucknell began the day in 28th place but slipped past Charleston Southern (997) in the final round. UNC-Wilmington (897) shot a tournament-best 295 Sunday to pull away from runner-up East Carolina by 12 strokes.
Like the Bucknell team, Evans reduced her score by three strokes each round, finishing at 246 for the tournament. Senior Molly Campbell, coming off a second-round 77, shot 83 on Sunday but was still Bucknell's top finisher at 242. She tied for 75th overall.
Medalist honors went to East Carolina's Adrienne Millican, who shot 218 (73-71-74) to hold off UNCW's Michelle Jarman (74-73-73) by two strokes.
Bucknell returns to action Sept. 20-22 at the Yale Invitational.
