COLLEGE WOMEN'S GOLF: Bucknell finishes in a tie for 7th at the Princeton Invititational

Princeton, N.J. --- The Bucknell women's golf team competed this weekend at the Princeton Invitational on the golf course at Springdale Golf Club. The Springdale Golf Club is a par 71, 6017 yard course that was designed by Gerald B. Lambert back in 1895, then called the Princeton Golf Club.

The Orange and Blue finished the tourney in a tie for 7th place out of 16 teams. The team shot a 36-hole total of 698 (353-345). Leading the way on the individual front was freshman Molly Campbell (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) with a two-day total of 171 (92-79). Campbell was low medallist for the Bison and her 79 is a team low for the fall season.

The team showed vast improvement from last year's showing at the invitational. In '99 at the Princeton Invitational, Bucknell shot a 36-hole total 730 and finished in 5th place out of 10 schools. This year's team shot 32 strokes better than the previous year.

The women's golf team will be hitting the links later this week when they travel to New Brunswick, N.J. for the Rutgers Invitational on October 6 and 7.
