Bucknell Women's Golf 13th at Penn State Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Bucknell women's golf team finished 13th out of 15 teams in a strong field at the Penn State Invitational over the weekend. The Bison compiled a 54-hole score of 990, including a 325 in Sunday's final round. Molly Campbell was Bucknell's low finisher, carding rounds of 80, 85 and 81 for a 246 total, which was good for a tie for 52nd place. Jess Hetrich was two shots back of Campbell at 248 (82-83-83). Four other Bison competed in the tournament, which used a play-six, count-four format. Jaime Hays finished at 252 (85-85-82), Amy Jones shot 253 (87-80-86), Kelly Evans totaled 254 (85-90-79) and Catherine Crews carded a 269 (90-90-89). Backed by medallist Katie Futcher, host Penn State led from wire to wire and won the tournament with a score of 902, nine strokes ahead of James Madison and Rollins. East Carolina (922), Princeton (935) and Maryland (948) rounded out the top six. Futcher compiled rounds of 69-76-75 (220) to win by two shots over James Madison's Jessica Lewis and Rollins' Mariana DeBiase.
