PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Bucknell University women's golf team completed day one of the Rutgers Invitational in record-setting fashion at the Rutgers University Golf Course this afternoon. Over the opening 18 holes the Bison compiled a 321-stroke mark, which ties for the all-time lowest 18-hole team round in Bucknell women's golf history. Bucknell is currently in third place out of 17 teams, trailing only Central Connecticut State, which shot a 314 for the afternoon, and the University of Pennsylvania, which recorded a 319.

Senior Hilary Mainka turned in the top overall finish for the Bison, as she tied her career best with a third-place, 77-stroke effort. That score also places her in a tie for the all-time best individual 18-hole round in Bucknell women's golf history. Mainka shot a 77 last year at the Bucknell Spring Invitational, while junior Jess Hetrich recorded the same score on the second day of the Yale Invitational earlier this season. Mainka is five strokes behind individual leader Colleen McDonnell of Central Connecticut, who shot a 72.

Also enjoying solid performances for Bucknell were junior Molly Campbell and freshman Jaime Hays, who each posted an 81 on the par-70 course to tie for 12th place out of 86 competitors. Hays' 81 marked her collegiate-best 18-hole round.

Hetrich completed the Bison's team scoring with her 82-stroke performance, finishing in a tie for 16th. Junior Catherine Crews also competed and posted a 97.

The Bison will conclude tournament play tomorrow back at the Rutgers University Golf Course.
