MIDLOTHIAN, Va. -- Playing with only four players due to a withdrawal, the Bucknell women's golf team opened with a round of 327 at the Spider Invitational, hosted by Richmond at Independence Golf Club. Sophomore Kelsey Meybin (Midlothian, Va./Saint Gertrude), playing back in her hometown, paced the Bison with a 77.

Sophomores Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) and Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) shot 80 and 81, respectively, but the Bison had to count an 89 as junior Katie Jurenovich (Warren, Ohio/Howland) was ill and could not finish her round. Jurenovich came into the event with a 78.3 average.

Bucknell is tied for 10th place with Cleveland State in the 15-team field. Longwood opened with a 302 and has a one-shot lead over Maryland with 18 holes remaining. Alexa Boucher of Longwood is the individual leader after firing an even-par 72.
