Bucknell Women's Golf Finishes Strong at Richmond Spider Invitational

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. -- All three Bucknell freshmen in the lineup scored in the 70s in the final round of the Richmond Spider Invitational on Tuesday, helping the Bison to a solid team score of 316 and a ninth-place finish in a mostly Southern 14-team field.

Minjoo Lee (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) led the way with a 78, classmates Kelsey Meybin (Midlothian, Va./Saint Gertrude) and Brittany Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) both shot 79, and Deirdre Moran (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) posted an 80 for the Bison, who registered their best score of the fall.

Leah Antkiewicz (Aliquippa, Pa./Quigley Catholic) tossed in an 82 for Bucknell, which finished with a 36-hole total of 636, two strokes behind Big South foe High Point.

Maryland closed with a 295 to come from 10 behind to beat Wofford by three shots. Longwood was third at 605, followed by Columbia (606), Richmond (615), William & Mary (618), Towson (622), High Point (634), Bucknell (636), Morehead State (646), Methodist (648), Marshall (655), Brown (666) and Old Dominion).

Maryland's Jessica Hollandsworth finished 1-under par for the tournament and held off Longwood's Mary Carmody by one stroke. Carmody finished with a 4-under 68.

Lee, who shot a school-record 72 at Rutgers over the weekend, compiled a team-best 157 at Richmond to finish in 30th place.

The Bison are back in action in two weeks at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at Southern Pines GC in North Carolina.
