PRINCETON, N.J. - Backed by an 18th-place finish by freshman Kelly Evans, Bucknell's women's golf team finished seventh in a 15-team field at the Princeton Women's Invitational at Springdale G.C.

Evans fired a career-low, five-over-par 77 in the second round and finished at 163 for the tournament. Her fine round buoyed Bucknell to a second-round 321, tied for the second-lowest team round in program history. The score was 30 strokes lower than the Bison's opening round total of 351, when no player shot better than 86.

In addition to Evans' 77 in the final round, the Bison also received a pair of 81s from Amy Jones and Jess Hetrich and an 82 from Molly Campbell.

Led by tournament medallist Elizabeth Carpenter, Brown shot 309-305 to win the team title by 14 strokes over host Princeton. William & Mary (639), St. John's (656), Saint Francis (665) and Penn (667) also finished ahead of Bucknell. The Bison were 12 strokes better than their nearest competitor, Richmond.
