Jessica Spadafora enters her third season as the head coach for the Bucknell women's lacrosse program in 2007. Spadafora will return sophomores Sarah Collins and Bonnie Buechel, who are two of Bucknell's leading scorers from the 2006 season. In her two seasons, Spadafora's Bison have produced an 11-22 (5-7 PL) record, which includes a five-game winning streak at the end of the 2006 regular season, when they held a 72-22 scoring margin over their opponents. Last season, she coached a Bucknell-record six All-Patriot League performers, which included the PL Defensive Player of the Year Rachel Prowler. Prowler and Bonnie Buechel picked up first-team honors, while Sarah Collins, Lauren Kremer, Lauren Deitrich and Lizzy McDaniel earned second-team accolades. Prowler and McDaniel were also selected to the North/South All-Star team. In 2005, Prowler and Emily Burman received first-team All-PL recognition, while Katie Edge and Andrea Paraud were handed second-team honors.

In Spadafora's two seasons, Bucknell has had a total of 31 members selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and a team grade-point average of 3.50 over the last two years. In 2005, the team ranked third nationally in GPA and was designated by the IWLCA as a "Merit Squad." In 2006, Prowler, Kremer, Tory Fields, Erin Weinstein and Shauna Weinstein were placed on the IWLCA National Honor Roll, which was the third most nationally.

Before coming to Bucknell, Spadafora spent two seasons as head coach at Randolph-Macon, leading the Yellow Jackets to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament semifinals both years. Her teams compiled an overall combined record of 20-15, including a stellar 13-3 ODAC record. Randolph-Macon was nationally ranked for much of the 2003 season, when it finished 11-5 overall, 7-1 in the league. There, Spadafora coached two all-region players, seven all-conference players and the ODAC Rookie of the Year.

Prior to her tenure at Randolph-Macon, Spadafora served as assistant women's lacrosse coach at Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y., and helped lead the Jaspers to back-to-back appearances in the MAAC championship. Spadafora also coached the 2002 MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year.

Spadafora graduated from the University at Albany in 2000 with her bachelor of arts degree in English and business, and then earned her masters degree with a concentration in counseling psychology from Manhattan in 2002. She also gained valuable experience working as a counselor at the St. Raymond's Elementary School and Family Outreach Center in Bronx, N.Y. As a student-athlete, Spadafora was a four-year letterwinner and starter at Albany. She became the fourth player in the program's history to break the 100-point mark, and she currently holds Albany records for goals and points in both a season and career. Spadafora was voted Albany's player of the year in 2000.
