LEWISBURG, Pa. - After three postponed games, the Bucknell women's lacrosse team finally got the 2003 season started with a 6-5 loss at the hands of visiting Columbia on Saturday, March 8, 2003. Sophomore Andrea Paraud was the offensive force for the Bison, tallying a hat-trick in the season-opener.

Bucknell trailed 3-2 at halftime, and came back to match the Lions 3-3 in the second half, but it was too little too late.

Paraud scored three for Bucknell, and senior Suzanne Raffaele and junior Laura Nuss each tallied once for the Orange and Blue.

Defensively, freshman Victoria Field collected four ground balls for the Bison, and classmate Rachel Prowler grabbed three. Sophomore Annie Greenspun forced four turnovers for Bucknell.

The Orange and Blue are 0-1 overall and will travel to the University of Denver to take on Wagner at 2:00 p.m. EST on Monday, March 10.
