Women's Lacrosse Team Falls to Duquesne, 10-7, at Colgate

Bison attack Suzanne Raffaele scores three goals in the losing effort.

HAMILTON, N.Y. - Bucknell sophomore attack Suzanne Raffaele (Springfield, Pa./Archmere Academy) scored three goals for the Bison, but it wasn't enough as BU fell to Duquesne, 10-7, at Colgate on Saturday, March 24.

The Dukes scored four goals in the opening half, while holding the Orange and Blue to just two, to carry the 4-2 lead into the halftime intermission.

In the second half, Bucknell got as close as one, 6-5, after a goal by Raffaele, but Duquesne put the game away with three unanswered scores over the next nine minutes. Raffaele scored BU's final goal with 5:30 to go to get the Bison within two, 9-7, but that was all the offense the Orange and Blue could manage. The Dukes added an insurance goal with 24 seconds remaining to create the final score, 10-7.

Bucknell falls to 2-5 overall. The Orange and Blue host Holy Cross in a Patriot League match up on Saturday, March 31, at 12:00 noon.
