Bucknell Drops Drexel In Double Overtime, 11-10

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Bucknell University defeated Drexel University, 11-10, in a double-overtime sudden victory in college women's lacrosse action at Drexel Field in Philadelphia on Sunday, April 22. With the win, Bucknell ends its season at 7-8 overall while Drexel falls to 3-9. Drexel took a 6-4 halftime lead but the Bison scored the first two goals of the second half to tie the game at six with 21:37 left to play. Trailing by three at the 8:51 mark, Bucknell netted three consecutive goals, including the game-tying goal with :23 left on the clock by freshman midfielder Amy Hasler (Birmingham, Mich./Seaholm), sending the game into overtime. Drexel and the Orange and Blue remained scoreless through the first overtime period, forcing a sudden victory second overtime period. Senior attacker Ashley Evans (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) scored her fifth goal of the afternoon, and the sudden victory game-winner, with 2:06 remaining on the clock. Sophomore midfielder Katrina Ran led Drexel with four goals. Freshman defender Jaime Kosmaczewski also had a multiple-goal outing for the Dragons, scoring two goals. Ashley Evans led all point scorers with five goals and one assist. Senior midfielder Kari Evans (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) netted three goals and assisted two other for the Bison. Drexel sophomore goalkeeper Shirley Sarker had 14 saves for the Dragons. For Bucknell, senior Annie Richards (Pt. Pleasant, N.J./Lawrenceville School) played the first half, recording seven saves. Sophomore keeper Nicole Kallis (Stevensville, Md./St. Mary's) took over the second half and overtime sessions, stopping eight shots.
