About Last Weekend
- On Sunday evening at Jeffrey Field in State College, the Bison gave 10th-ranked Penn State all it could handle but fell short by a 4-2 margin.
- Danielle Toney scored for Penn State just 1:46 into the contest, but the Bison kept the Nittany Lions off the board the rest of the half. That proved big when Christa Matlack broke free and chipped one in just 56 seconds into the second half, tying the game at 1-1. Two goals just 63 seconds apart later in the half gave the hosts a 3-1 lead, but the Bison got right back in it on Jennifer Dervarics' fifth goal of the season, coming in the 67th minute. Bucknell had a number of good chances to tie in the closing minutes, but Dervarics hit the post with a header on a corner kick, and Lions keeper Alyssa Naeher made two tough saves. PSU added a big insurance goal from Zoe Bouchelle with just 2:09 left.
- Penn State outshot Bucknell 19-12. Naeher finished with seven saves, while Bucknell's Kathryn Sutton stopped six shots.
