LEWISBURG, Pa. - Meaghan Haley (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley), who was 1-0 with a 1.40 ERA in three games last week, was named the Patriot League Softball Rookie of the Week Monday. She is the first Bison to claim a weekly citation this season.

Haley pitched the first complete game of her career in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader sweep over Army. She scattered nine hits and four walks over 7.0 innings. The Black Knights managed just two runs, and just one earned run, against Haley in the 3-2 Bucknell win. Haley also struck out two Army hitters to equal her career high.

In her final two appearances of the week, Haley came on in relief. She allowed two hits and one run in 2.0 innings in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, a 9-6 loss. The right-hander again equaled her career high with two strikeouts, marking the seventh time this season she has achieved that figure. In the second game of that doubleheader, Haley yielded two hits and no runs in 1.0 inning of work.

For the week, Haley led the team with her 1.40 ERA and was second on the squad with 10.0 innings pitched. She gave up 13 hits and six walks, but just three runs, two earned, were scored off her.

Over her last nine appearances, Haley has seen her ERA plummet from 6.75 to its current 3.94. She is 2-3 in 20 appearances, including seven starts, this season. In 48.0 innings Haley has struck out 20 hitters and allowed just 27 earned runs.

Bucknell is in action Wednesday with a home doubleheader against Towson. The twinbill was originally scheduled for April 5, but snow forced the postponement. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
