LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior catcher Lauren Litts (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg) repeated as a First Team All-Patriot League selection, and sophomore outfielder Ashley Carlson (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team for the first time, the Patriot League office announced Tuesday.

Litts, the ninth Bison to earn first-team plaudits at least twice, will go down as one of the best power hitters in Bucknell history. The Bison career leader in home runs (20) and runs batted in (107), Litts led the team in both categories this year with four home runs and 33 runs batted in, just two shy of her own single-season standard she shares with current assistant coach and former All-Patriot League catcher Angie Stackhouse.

The right-handed hitter hit .245 this year and had hits in 16 of the season's first 18 games, including a career-best nine-game hitting streak. Her best performance was a 4-for-4 outing with four runs batted in, two runs scored, one double and one home run in an 8-5 win over Eastern Kentucky in February.

Litts, who will graduate later this month ranked in the top 10 in Bucknell history in home runs (1st, 20), runs batted in (1st, 107), games played (5th, 167) and hits (7th, 143), recorded 10 doubles to move up to second on that list with 43 in her career.

In a season in which she started a career high-tying 48 games, Litts was among the Patriot League leaders in a number of categories. She ranked tied for fifth in home runs, tied for fourth in doubles and was second in runs batted in.

Ashley Carlson

Carlson had a breakout year as a sophomore, finishing sixth in the Patriot League in hitting with an impressive .338 average after flirting with .400 for much of the early part of the season. She tallied 49 hits, more than double her freshman-year total of 22, and came just shy of entering the program's single-season top-10 list as she ranked fourth in the Patriot League in that category.

The team leader, along with Erin Curatola (River Edge, N.J./River Dell), in multiple-hit games with 15, the speedy Carlson was second on the Bison with 24 runs scored, a figure that was tied for eighth in the Patriot League. She led the league with a career-high 12 stolen bases in 14 attempts and had a .389 on-base percentage while hitting mainly in the leadoff position in the order.

Carlson played in and started 48 of Bucknell's 49 games and drove in nine runs. She led the team with 13 sacrifice bunts and walked 12 times, second on the squad.

Litts and Carlson helped the Bison to a 15-33-1 record in 2007. Bucknell finished fifth in the Patriot League standings with a 7-12 mark, missing out on the Patriot League Tournament, but entered the final weekend alive for a third postseason berth in four years.
