LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell softball was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently for its outstanding work in the classroom. The Bison were ranked 21st on the NCAA Division I girls got game All-Academic Team with a 3.363 team grade-point average for the 2008-09 school year.

Bucknell was one of two Patriot League schools honored by the NFCA, being joined by the 52nd-ranked Lehigh. The 2009 Bison squad was also recognized by the Patriot League this summer. With 15 Academic Honor Roll selections, the Bison placed the most student-athletes on the list for the fourth consecutive year. Bucknell was led by Jessie Snyder (Tacoma, Wash./Stadium) and Lauren Trosch (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh), who each had perfect 4.0 GPAs.

Robert Morris, Drexel and Indiana State were the top three teams recognized by the NFCA this year. This was the third consecutive year the Bison was named a girls got game All-Academic Team.
