Bucknell Softball Announces Six Early Signees for Class of 2017

LEWISBURG, Pa. - With most of Bucknell athletics taking a break from competition during the exam period, Bison softball has kept busy as first-year head coach Bonnie Skrenta announced the team's Class of 2017 recruits on Friday. Jacee Almond, Chaylen Andolino, Lara Bean, Christina Martinez, Jacklyn Tyburk and Carolyn Wan became the latest members of Bucknell softball history and bring more than a dozen all-conference and all-state honors with them to Lewisburg. The six newest additions will join Bucknell for the 2014 campaign. The Bison will get their 2013 season underway in mid-February as they open play at the CSU Dome Tournament Feb. 16-17 against foes from Niagara, St. Bonaventure, Canisius and the host Cleveland State. The Bison will get their first chance to play on their home Becker Field on March 27 when they host Drexel in a mid-week doubleheader. Patriot League play gets underway the following weekend with Lehigh coming to Becker Field on March 30-31.
