Bucknell Women's Swimming & Diving Wins Pair

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team won against both of its opponents on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Kinney Natatorium, defeating Duquesne, 174-120, and St. Francis (Pa.), 231-63. The Bison are now 3-0 this season in dual meets.

Bucknell sophomore Molly Goebel (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) was victorious in 50-yard freestyle and the 100 free, with times of 24.18 seconds and 52.97 seconds, respectively. Goebel was also part of the Orange and Blue's victorious 200 medley relay, along with Courtney Warren (Montour Falls, N.Y./Watkins Glen), Kelly Morris (Metuchen, N.J/Metuchen) and Megan Mongan (Malvern, Pa./Villa Maria Academy). Their winning time was 1:48.95.

Mongan won the 200 free (1:56.28), while Warren won the 100 back (58.65) for the Bison. Bucknell junior Abigail Atkinson (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) gave the Bison a sweep in the backstroke, winning the 200 back in 2:08.34. Macey Keath (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) gave Bucknell a winner in the breaststroke, winning the 200 breast in 2:26.00.

In diving, juniors Allison FitzPatrick (Berwyn, Pa./Episcopal Academy) and Eliza Massie (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) emerged on top for the Orange and Blue. FitzPatrick won the three-meter dive with a score of 218.03, while Massie won the one-meter with a 207.98.

Bucknell will be at Kinney Natatorium again on Saturday, Nov. 8, hosting Patriot League rivals American, Lafayette and Navy. The meet is slated to start at 2 p.m.
