LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team won two of its three dual meets against Patriot League competition on Saturday, Nov. 8, in Lewisburg, Pa. The Bison defeated American, 214-82, and Lafayette, 217-83, but lost to Navy, 157-138. Bucknell now has a 5-1 record in dual meets this season.

Bison sophomore Macey Keath (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) won the 400-yard IM event in four minutes, 35.07 seconds, setting a new personal best that ties her for eighth place in the Bucknell record books. Keath finished second in the 200 breast, finishing in 2:23.76, and her third place finish in the 100 breast (1:07.56) improves upon her previous personal best and keeps her in sixth place in the Bison annals.

Bucknell's Courtney Warren (Montour Falls, N.Y./Watkins Glen) won the 100 back (58.09), while teammate Abigail Atkinson (59.27) (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) was second. Atkinson was second in the 200 back (2:07.67), while Warren took third (2:02.22). Warren led off the Bison's victorious 200 medley relay team, that also included Kelly Morris (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen), Molly Goebel (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) and Megan Mongan (Malvern, Pa./Villa Maria Academy). The Orange and Blue won that even in 1:47.95. Mongan and Warren combined with Susan Horstmann (Havertown, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) and Christine Shepherd (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) to finish second (3:37.95) in the 400 free relay. Mongan finished second in the 200 free (1:55.87).

Shepherd had the top times for Bucknell in the 500 free (5:14.43) and the 1,000 free (10:42.26), finishing fifth and third overall, respectively. Goebel was second in the 50 free (24.12) and fourth in the 100 free (53.48), both the best performances in the events by a Bison swimmer.

In diving, Bucknell junior Eliza Massie (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) won the one-meter event, with a score of 226.45. She finished third in the three-meter dive (215.60), while classmate Allison FitzPatrick (Berwyn, Pa./Episcopal Academy) was second (232.20).

Bucknell women's swimming & diving team returns to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 22, when it hosts the two-day Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium. That will be the last meet for the Bison until Jan. 10, 2009, when they will host Colgate.
