Bucknell Women's Tennis Swept at Penn State
Feb. 8, 2011
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's tennis claimed its 15th straight win over Bucknell, sweeping the Bison at University Park, Pa., on Tuesday. Bucknell (0-3) fell in straight sets in each match. Lauren Lucido (Woodstock, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) gave Penn State (2-1) the biggest threat, but the Bison senior still only managed just six games at No. 1 singles. The Nittany Lions' Amy Simidian earned the victory, 6-2, 6-4. Penn State's run in singles play was a carryover from its success at doubles. The home team quickly earned the doubles point, winning 8-2 at the first and third positions, and 8-3 at No. 2. Bucknell will try to turn its luck around on Sunday when it hosts Binghamton. The match at the West Branch Tennis Club in Williamsport, Pa., is set for 1 p.m. Penn State 7, Bucknell 0 Singles
