Bison Women's Tennis Players Improve to 2-0 in Dual Meet Action

St. Bonaventure, N.Y. - Bucknell's women's tennis team picked up its second dual meet victory of the season, improving to 2-0 by defeating Cleveland State, 6-1, in college women's tennis action on Saturday, February 24. Bison freshman Samantha Berthod (White Plains, N.Y./Ursuline Academy), sophomore Laura Maisel (Princeton, N.J./Hun School) and senior Beth Wurzburg (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) were repeat winners at the three, five and six singles slots, respectively. In addition, junior Kristin Inglis (Huntington, N.Y./Saint Anthony) and freshman Alyssa Bishop (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb School of Knoxville) picked up singles wins at the second and fourth flights. The BU doubles teams at the second and third flights were also winners on the day, earning the Orange and Blue the doubles point. Bucknell is 2-0 and will travel to Hofstra for a match on Saturday, March 3, at 1:00 p.m.
