Bison Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated With 5-2 Win Over Duquesne

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Bison women's tennis team improved to 3-0 on Friday, besting Duquesne 5-2 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Veronica Brown and Nada Curcic were double-winners taking a singles match apiece and combining for a win a one-doubles. Brown and Curcic bested Duquesne's Jacqueline Hughes and Andrea Sailer 8-5 in first-court doubles. Caitlin Baffa and Chelsea Mills also notched a doubles win defeating Ciara McDermott and Sarah Shanahan at three doubles. Curcic earned her second win of the day at one singles downing Johanna Bezjack, 6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-4. Brown won handily at three singles beating Sailer, 6-3, 6-0. The depth of Bucknell's lineup proved to be the difference once again as Daniella Shtemberg came through with a win over Shanahan, 7-5, 4-6, 6-0, at four singles and Rheanna Gaskin recorded a victory at six singles defeating McDermott, 6-4, 6-1. The Bison conclude their weekend in Pittsburgh tomorrow afternoon as they take on the University of Pittsburgh at 2 p.m. Results:
