Bucknell Women's Tennis Falls to Pittsburgh, 4-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Kristin Inglis and Tanya Sichko were the lone winners for the Bucknell women's tennis team in a 4-0 setback to the Panthers of Pittsburgh on Friday, March 22.

Inglis and Sichko paired up at the No. 3 doubles slot to pick up an 8-1 win over Jena Fiore and Hayley Hughes. Ashley Diers and Nadezda Curcic narrowly missed earning BU the doubles point, dropping an 8-9 (6-8) decision at second doubles.

Curcic also came close to extending the match with a tough 3-6, 6-2, 2-6 loss at second singles.

Bucknell falls to 2-4 overall and is in action again on Saturday, hosting St. Bonaventure in the second of three home matches this weekend.

1. Jill Williams (P) def. Jill Wurzburg - 6-0, 6-1.
2. Nikki Borza (P) def. Nadezda Curcic - 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.
3. Laura Pegula (P) vs. Ashley Diers - DNF.
4. Jena Fiore (P) def. Kristin Inglis - 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).
5. Tanya Sichko (B) vs. Brooke Yablonski - DNF.
6. Samantha Berthod (B) vs. Hayley Hughes - DNF.

Doubles (best 2-of-3 for one team point)
1. Williams/Borza (P) def. Wurzburg/Laura Maisel - 8-4.
2. Pegula/Yablonski (P) def. Diers/Curcic - 9-8 (6-8).
3. Inglis/Sichko (B) def. Fiore/Hughes - 8-1.
