Bucknell Women's Tennis Wins Second in a Row with 7-0 Defeat of Mount St. Mary's

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's tennis team completed its three-match weekend with a convincing 7-0 victory over visiting Mount St. Mary's on Sunday, March 24. The Bison did not lose a set in singles play and yielded only four games in three doubles pro-sets. Freshman Tanya Sichko finished out an undefeated weekend with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Rachael Lawruk at No. 4 singles, before teaming up with senior Kristin Inglis at No. 2 doubles to win an 8-0 decision. Sichko lost only one game in singles play all weekend. Sophomore Samantha Berthod also had an impressive match, shutting out Sheila Mulligan 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 s and earning the 8-2 victory with classmate Kristen Pugno at No. 3 doubles. Freshmen Nadezda Curcic and Ashley Diers were victorious at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots, respectively, with identical scores of 6-0, 6-1. The two teamed up to post an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Bucknell evens its season at 4-4 overall and will travel to Delaware on Saturday, March 30, for a 2:00 p.m. match against the Fightin' Blue Hens.
