Bison Women Shut Out American 7-0 in Patriot League Action

DUMFRIES, Va. - In their first Patriot League contest of the season, the Bison women's tennis team picked up a victory on Saturday, besting American in a 7-0 shut out. Bucknell improves to an impressive 9-1 on the year, 1-0 in the Patriot League. The Bison won the doubles point, taking two of three matches. Veronica Brown and Nada Curcic took out Julia Colarusso and Tessa Hollyn-Taub at one doubles, 8-5. Rheanna Gaskin and Chelsea Mills were also victorious, defeating Merrisa Hollinger and Brynne Ward, 8-1, at three doubles. In singles action, Curcic upended Colarusso at one singles, 6-4, 6-3. Daniella Shtemberg was the winner at two singles, defeating Hollyn-Taub, 6-1, 6-0. Tanya Sichko bested Rachael Honig at three singles, 6-0, 6-3. Brown won with little effort at four singles, beating Brandi Kligman, 6-0, 6-0. Mills won on court five, defeating Hollinger, 8-2, while Gaskin shut out Ward, 8-0, on court six. The Bison will be back in action on Thursday, March 31, when they travel to Villanova for a non-league contest. The match is slated for a 3 p.m. start time. Results: Singles:
