Women's Tennis Squad Drops One to Towson

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Towson won four singles matches on its way to claiming a 4-2 victory over Bucknell's women's tennis team on Tuesday, April 3. BU falls to 4-3 overall, while the Tigers improve to 4-10.

The Bison got singles victories from sophomore Laura Maisel (Princeton, N.J./Hun School) and senior Beth Wurzburg (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier). Maisel defeated Towson's Sarah Dumansky, 6-1, 6-0, at the fifth flight, while B. Wurzburg picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Betsy Chew at the sixth spot.

In doubles action, the Bucknell tandem of Maisel and sophomore Jill Wurzburg (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) defeated the Tigers' Dumansky and Chew at the third flight, 8-3, in the only doubles match contested.

The Bison, 4-3 overall, continue their home stand with a match against Loyola on Wednesday, April 4, at 3:00 p.m.
