Women's Tennis Team Continues to Struggle, Dropping One at Pittsburgh, 6-1

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Bucknell women's tennis team's struggles continued as the team dropped their sixth consecutive match, falling to Pittsburgh 6-1 on Saturday, April 14, 2001.

BU sophomore Laura Maisel (Princeton, N.J./Hun School) was the lone winner in singles action, improving her overall singles record to 9-4 with a 6-1, 7-6 (8-6) victory at the third flight.

In doubles play, the duo of Maisel and freshman Kristen Pugno (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) were victorious for the Orange and Blue, winning 8-6 at the third doubles flight.

Bucknell falls to 4-7 overall and returns home for the remainder of the season, beginning with a match against UMBC on Tuesday, April 17, at 3:30 p.m.
