Bucknell Women's Tennis Competes At Patriot League Flighted Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Bucknell women's tennis team is spending the weekend competing in the Patriot League Flighted Championship, being held at the Lewis Tennis Center on the campus of Lehigh University. Freshman Tanya Sichko (Boulder, Colo./Fairview), who has not lost a singles match in her college career, entered the tournament seeded first at the fifth singles flight. Due to her seed, the rookie earned a bye in the first round and went on to defeat her opponent from Lehigh, 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinal round. She will face Marissa Limsiaco of Army in the finals on Sunday. In doubles action, the duo of Sichko and sophomore Kristen Pugno (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) defeated a pair from American, 8-6 at third doubles. The twosome did fall, 8-5 to Army in the semifinal round for only their second doubles loss of the season. Play will continue at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 21.
