LEWISBURG, Pa. -
Nadezda Curcic (Belgrade, Serbia/3rd Belgrade) was named to the first All-Patriot League team on Friday, the only Bison so honored on either the eight-player first team or six-player second team. The junior scarcely encountered defeat in the spring season after studying abroad during Bucknell's fall campaign.
Curcic won 18 of 19 singles matches she played, competing at third singles more than any other slot, with her only loss coming 6-1, 6-4 to Aleksandra Zerkalova of American, a Patriot League second-teamer. She was also 14-3 in doubles play this fall, competing mostly at second doubles, never falling by more than four points. It is the first Patriot League honor for Curcic.
The Bison finished their season April 21 at Bloomsburg with a 9-0 win. The team went 16-4 overall and 2-3 in Patriot League play, winning a school-record 16 dual matches for the fourth time in school history though narrowly missing out on the Patriot League postseason.
