PHILADELPHIA - Bucknell track and field opened its run at the Penn Relays with a handful of competitors in the women's field on Thursday. Abby Monaghan (La Plata, Md./La Plata) placed fifth in the discus, while Emily Liggett (Grosse Pointe, Mich./Lawrenceville School (N.J.)) was 11th in the 3,000 with one of the best times in program history to highlight the Bison's start. Monaghan claimed Bucknell's first top-10 finish of the day with her fifth-place showing in the college discus. The junior threw 148 feet, 7 inches at Franklin Field. Rebecca Misko (Morristown, N.J./Madison) joined her in the event, taking 16th with a throw of 140-1.
