Bucknell Track and Field Opens With Day One at ECAC/IC4A Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bucknell men's and women's track and field teams got started at the ECAC and IC4A Championships on Friday, hosted by Princeton, with sophomore Ryan White (Elkins Park, Pa./Father Judge) competing on Day One. White completed the first five events of the decathlon.

Half way through the decathlon, White sits in fifth place with a point total of 3,459. He ran a time of 11.63 (725 points) in the decathlon 100-meter dash, went 21-11 ¾ (743) in the long jump, 34-6 ¾ (518) in the shot put, 6-6 ¼ (794) in the high jump and 53.07 (679) in the 400-meter dash.

The Bison are prepared to continue at the ECAC and IC4A Championships with Day Two of competition on Saturday. On the women's side, Bucknell will have senior Amanda Mockbee (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) and sophomore Chelsey Musante (Shelton, Pa./Shelton) in the hammer throw, freshman Rebecca Frey (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) in the pole vault, and senior Beverly Rogers (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold) and freshman Laura Rycek (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) in the javelin throw. Additionally, the Bison women will run in the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relay trials.

On the men's side for Day Two, Bucknell will have White finishing the decathlon, senior James Meyer (Pacific Palisades, Calif../Pacific Palisades) in the hammer throw, senior Wallace Campbell (Montgomery, Ala./Montgomery Acad.) in the 1,500-meter run, sophomore Andrew Yehl (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) in the trial for the 110-meter hurdles, junior Kerry Boyle (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) in the trial for the 400-meter dash, and junior Kevin Macleod (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) in the trial for the 400-meter hurdles. Additionally, Bucknell will have a squad run in the trial for the 4x800 relay.

 

 

The ECAC and IC4A Championships will run through Sunday, May 18.
