GREENSBORO, N.C. - At the Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, N.C., in NCAA East Regional Championship competition, Bucknell junior Christa Sawko (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) broke the school's record in the 800-meter run in the preliminaries on Friday evening.

Sawko clocked a time of 2 minutes, 8.98 seconds, defeating the old school record, set by her, of 2:09.19. Her time earned her a 13th place finish.

In other action on the track, junior Catherine Trentacoste (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) clocked a 400 time of 57.92 and ended in 26th place.

Saturday will conclude the Bison's action at Regionals, featuring juniors Marjorie Grap (Van Etten, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) in the hammer and discus and Melanie Buczko (Butler, Pa./Butler) in the pole vault.
