Interview with Head Coach Kevin Donner
LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell's track and field programs will be heading to Princeton, N.J., May 15-17, for the IC4A and ECAC Championships. Bucknell has 15 female qualifiers and 18 male qualifiers in all. Events at the IC4A will kick off Friday at 1 p.m. with the men's decathlon 100-meter dash. The ECAC meet will begin at 2 p.m. with the women's heptathlon 100 hurdles.
At last year's IC4A meet, the Bison men's team had highlights from then-junior Kevin MacLeod, who set a school record in the 400 hurdles, crossing the line in 51.87 seconds for fourth overall. The Bison women's performances at the ECAC meet were highlighted by the 4x800 relay team. The team consisting of then-juniors Megan Hathaway and Jenny Dalzell and sophomores Allison Janda and Jennifer Pierce finished seventh overall with a 9:10.60 in the finals after running the third-fastest time in Bucknell history in the preliminary round (8:56.96).
The Bison recently won the Patriot League Championship and the men were the runners up behind perennial powerhouse Army. The Bison women won for the eighth time in 10 years. With the conclusion of the Patriot League season, Bucknell placed eight men on the All-Patriot League First Team and two athletes on the second team, as the women placed 10 on the first team and two on the second team.
Up next for the Bison is the NCAA Regional meet in Greensboro, N.C., hosted by North Carolina A&T, May 29-30. The Bison have 15 qualifiers.
