St. John's Grad Joins Bison for Start of 2012 Campaign
A 2007 graduate of St. John's University and an All-BIG EAST selection with the Red Storm, Caitlin Rimgaila became the newest member of the Bucknell volleyball staff during the summer of 2012. Rimgaila joins the Bison having coached most recently at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford, Pa., where she led the squad to a top-10 state ranking.
As a student-athlete at St. John's, Rimgaila captained the Red Storm to an undefeated conference run in 2006. The same year, the team achieved a top-25 national ranking for the first time in program history and she was named Second Team All-BIG EAST.
Off the court, Rimgaila was named the 2006 BIG EAST/Aeropostale Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She was also a three-time selection as a BIG EAST Academic All-Star and to the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society for student-athletes. She capped off her career with a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection as a senior. She also co-founded STAR (Students Teaching Athletes Responsibility) at St. John's.
Since graduating with a degree in communication science and a minor in business administration, Rimgaila has served as head coach at Pope John Paul II and with the Synergy Volleyball Club and Philadelphia Volleyball Academy. Her coaching experience also includes stints as an assistant at The Agnes Irwin School (Pa.) and SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology.
Most recently Rimgaila worked as a public relations account manager at Diccicco Battista Communications.
