LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Shannon Walker led all players with 16 kills and three blocks, leading the Bucknell University volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of St. Francis (Pa.) University Wednesday evening in Davis Gym.

The Bison, who won for the third match in a row, improved to 6-4 on the season. St. Francis fell to 0-14.

Walker, who was honored in a brief ceremony before the game for picking up her 1,000th career kill last weekend, made just three errors on the night on 31 attempts for a .419 hitting percentage. Freshman Jackie Leahy also hit double figures with 14 kills, while sophomore Brandi Trapasso notched a match-high 14 digs in just two games. Senior Whitney Williams added a match-high 32 assists to go with eight digs.

Freshman Nichole Hyer led St. Francis with 11 kills and nine digs, and Kelly Snee served up 26 assists.

The Bison trailed 7-6 early in game one before going on 12-3 spurt that led to an 18-10 advantage. Bucknell pulled away gradually to win the first set 30-21. In the second game Bucknell led just 15-14 midway through the game, but after a 10-2 run the Bison enjoyed their biggest lead of the set, 25-16. The Bison would also win the second game 30-21. St. Francis was in control early in the third set, but Bucknell outscored the Red Flash 14-6 to close the match, and won by a score of 30-21 for the third straight game.

The Bison return to Patriot League action on Friday when they travel to American University at 7 p.m.
