American Tops Bucknell Volleyball, 3-0
Sept. 28, 2001 WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Bucknell University women's volleyball team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end Friday evening at American University, which defeated the Bison 3-0 in Patriot League action. Bucknell fell to 6-5 and 2-1 in the Patriot League with the loss, while American won its fourth consecutive match to bump its record to 9-2 and 3-0 in league play. The Eagles won in three sets, 30-13, 30-25 and 30-19. Sophomore Brandi Trapasso was a bright spot for Bucknell. Trapasso led the Bison with six kills and just one error on 15 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage. She also added five digs. Sophomore Breean Trapasso recorded a team-high eight assists for the Bison, and freshman Jackie Leahy posted eight digs. Natacha Cornaz and Daria Bobko paced American with a match-high eight kills apiece.
The Bison continue their Patriot League schedule tomorrow evening at Navy starting at 7 p.m.
