EASTON, Pa. - Bucknell women's volleyball marked its first Patriot League win of the season over Lafayette. The Bison captured a 3-0 win over the Leopards.

Bucknell shutout Lafayette in a three game match on Saturday evening. The Bison grabbed a 30-24 win in the first game of the night. During the second game, Bucknell pulled through with a 30-22 victory over the Leopards and closed the night with a 30-21 win.

"The team worked well together," mentioned head coach Cindy Opalski. "We were upset about our loss on Wednesday against Lehigh, and picked up our intensity. We worked in practice the past few days and was able to execute very well against Lafayette."

Melanie Ghiz and Brandi Trapasso led the team with 10 kills each, while Brandi added 14 digs. Breean Trapasso finished with 23 assists for the Bison.

The Bison now hold a 7-7 overall record and are 1-1 in the Patriot League. Bucknell will face Patriot League foes American, on Friday, Oct. 4, and Navy on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Davis Gymnasium.
