BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Bucknell volleyball team used a balanced attack, led by Jackie Leahy's seven kills, and an aggressive serving game that featured a season-high 14 service aces to capture its third win in its last four matches, defeating Lehigh 3-0 Saturday evening.

The Bison (8-6, 2-1 Patriot League), who forced to play five games in each of their last two matches, needed just three games to dispose of the Mountain Hawks. After jumping out to a 30-21 advantage in the first game, Bucknell posted 30-16 and 30-24 scores in the final two games.

The balanced Bison offensive attack was paced by Jackie Leahy's seven kills, while Courtney Clark and Chelsea Robertson added five kills apiece.

The key to victory was the aggressive serving game that featured the season-high 14 service aces, including three each from Robertson, Clark and Leahy.

Carolyn Dougherty led the team with 10 digs, while setter Jessica Le dished out 21 assists.

Michelle Schwendenmann led all players with nine kills for Lehigh, while Shaina Jordan added eight as the Mountain Hawks fell to 2-11, 1-2 in the Patriot League.

Bucknell will return home Friday night, Oct. 8, for a league match versus Navy. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. in Davis Gym.
