LEWISBURG, Pa. - Holy Cross battled back from a 2-0 deficit to win three sets in a row and handed the Bucknell University volleyball team its first home loss of the season, winning 3-2 in Patriot League action Saturday evening.

Bucknell had started the season 5-0 in Davis Gym before tonight's match. With the loss the Bison dropped to 9-6 (5-2 Patriot League) and lost for just the second time in their last eight matches. Holy Cross improved to 10-6 and 2-4 in league play.

But the Bison held on to win the final three points to take the match 31-29.

Bucknell appeared to be on its way to a sweep after forging an early 14-10 advantage in game three, but the Crusaders put together a 12-2 run to go up 22-16 before winning the set 30-24. Holy Cross used 6-0 surge to turn a 5-3 deficit into a 9-5 advantage in the see-saw fourth set, which featured a total of 12 ties.
