In game one, Army led from the outset and did not trail after the team's seventh point, on the way to a 1-0 advantage in the match with a 30-21 win.

Then in game two, Henderson set the tone for Bucknell by opening the frame with a kill and following up with three consecutive service aces to put the Orange and Blue out in front, 4-0. The Bison extended their lead to as many as twelve points and tied the match, 1-1, by playing to a 30-20 result.

After trailing 25-19 in the third game, Bucknell scratched its way to within a point of the Black Knights at 29-28, which prompted an Army timeout. Following the break, the Bison knotted the score on a Black Knights' attack error and notched the next two points on a kill by Henderson and a service ace by Pitsch, which gave the Orange and Blue a 31-29 game three victory.

The teams traded point-for-point most of the way through game four until Army used a 9-3 run to build a 27-20 advantage. The Black Knights went on to take the game, 30-23, which evened the match score at 2-2.

In game five, with the score tied at seven, Bucknell forced an Army timeout after three straight kills, one by Grossmann and two by Henderson, which put the Bison in front, 10-7. The Black Knights would tie the score on two more occasions, at 12 and at 13, but the Orange and Blue iced the match with back-to-back kills by Henderson for the team's 14th and 15th points.

Bucknell returns to action tomorrow, Oct. 21, when the team will play host to Holy Cross in a Patriot League match at 7 p.m.
