Bucknell Volleyball Comes up Short Against Army, 3-1

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Sophomore Jenna Henderson (Elk Grove, Calif./Laguna Creek) registered her eighth double-double of the season, however, the Bucknell volleyball squad came up short against Army by a 3-1 margin. The Bison collected a 30-26 victory in game three but dropped games one, two and four by the scores of 30-15, 30-17 and 30-11. Bucknell fell to 14-12 overall, 6-5 in the Patriot League, while Army improved to 19-3, 10-1 in the league. Henderson posted a team-high 13 kills for the Bison and added 16 digs while junior Kristen Sydlowski (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) followed with eight kills, three service aces and led the squad with 18 digs. Junior Allison Brady (Atherton, Calif./Sacred Heart Prep) recorded with 13 digs, senior Jessica Le (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) posted 16 assists and freshman Shannon Pitsch (Oak Brook, Ill./Fenwick) had 12 assists in the match. Briana Stremick headed up the Black Knights' offense with 21 kills and hit .415. Jamie Clark registered 19 kills and hit .500, Mandy Kimbrell chipped in with 22 digs, Eileen Cassidy added 13 digs and setter Abby Casciato contributed 55 assists and 11 digs.
Bucknell returns to action on Friday, Nov. 4, when the team will travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to take on Patriot League foe Lehigh at 7 p.m.
