WASHINGTON, D.C. - Cutrina Biddulph recorded a match-high 14 kills to help keep American unbeaten in Patriot League play with a 3-0 victory over Bucknell on Friday night at Bender Arena. Jackie Leahy had seven kills for the Bison, who saw a two-match winning streak come to an end with the 30-21, 30-21, 30-15 loss.

Despite the loss, Bucknell (13-10, 7-4) remains in third place in the Patriot League standings and is closing in on clinching a PL Tournament berth. The Bison entered the night three full games ahead of Navy, Lafayette and Holy Cross, and just a game behind second-place Army.

American (18-5, 11-0) outhit Bucknell .373 to -.019 on Friday night and won its 59th straight Patriot League contest, including tournament play, since joining the league in 2001. Biddulph had just one error and hit .591 for the match while setter Courtney Mulford hit .714 with five kills, 30 assists and four blocks.

Chelsea Robertson hit a team-high .286 for the Bison with six kills, and she also led the team with seven digs. Jenna Henderson and Jennie Smith added four kills each, while Jessica Le dished 18 assists and registered two of the team's six service aces.

Bucknell returns to Patriot League play on Saturday night, visiting Navy at 7 p.m. The Bison defeated the Mids in four games last month.
