Breean Trapasso Named Patriot League Volleyball Player of the Week
Nov. 3, 2003 LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior setter Breean Trapasso (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda H.S.) has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week after leading the Bison to a pair of three-game sweeps at Lafayette and Lehigh this weekend. Arguably the top playmaker in the Patriot League this season, Trapasso averaged better than 12 assists per game, totaling 73 in all, in the two weekend victories. She has helped lead Bucknell to 10-1 start in the Patriot League (14-9 overall). The Bison have won six straight matches and on Saturday clinched at least the No. 2 seed at the Patriot League Tournament later this month. Trapasso, who had a double-double with 41 assists and 10 digs in a win at third-place Lehigh on Saturday, leads the Patriot League with an average of 11.62 assists per game in conference matches. She averages 10.35 assists per game overall this season, good for second in the league. Earlier this season, Trapasso became on the third player in Bucknell history to record 2,000 career assists.
Bucknell plays its final regular-season home games of the season this weekend, hosting Navy on Friday at 7 p.m. and league-leading American on Saturday at 7 p.m. American is 11-0 in Patriot League play this season and 39-0 since joining the league in 2001.
