Women's Water Polo Team Wins Second Game at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell's women's water polo team won its second game of the day at the Bucknell Invitational, defeating Slippery Rock, 12-7, on Saturday, February 24.

The Bison led 4-3 after the first quarter, thanks to two goals each from senior co-captains Paige Cull (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn) and Julie McLaughlin (Woodside, Calif./Menlo) in the period. Holding a 7-5 lead after the second quarter, the Bucknell defense shut Slippery Rock down in the third, allowing the Rock only one goal while scoring four in the frame to go up 11-6. Junior Brooke Rea (Canandaigua, N.Y./Los Altos) tallied two of her game-high five goals in the period.

McLaughlin finished the game with four goals and a team-best three assists and three steals. Junior Adrienne Schober (Houston, Texas/Clearlake) shared the team lead with three assists.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lindsay Chesterfield (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) recorded 10 saves in the contest, while also registering two steals.
